Emily the calligrapher and artist has a fine art degree from the University of West Florida. She has worked in the publication/printing field since 1978. She sold her first calligraphy fine art piece in 1974, just before it won a ribbon in the art show.

In 1981 in Pensacola Florida, she opened Calligraphic Design behind Stones Super Service Store, and was contacted by another wedding vendor to do calligraphy for wedding invitation envelopes. This vendor encouraged her to offer invitation papers and envelopes to complement her graphic design and monogram services. In 1986 the studio moved to its present location at 1410 Olive Road in Pensacola and changed the business name to Call A Graphic Artist.
